Hi everyone! My name is Lauren, and I’m turning the big 3-0 next year. I thought I’d have a leg up when it came to motherhood because I’ve essentially been taking care of kids since I was 12, got my associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and worked in a childcare facility for a short time until I had my daughter in October of 2016. However, I’ve realized that I’m not as prepared as I thought I was. With the insane cost of child care, I had to give up my career as a preschool teacher to take on my new role as mommy. I became a caretaker for my father, who has several health issues, and I work from home as an independent Avon sales representative. I am very open about mental health struggles, as they run in my family (my dad has bipolar depression and anxiety, as well as a myriad of physical health problems).
I am a super eclectic person, which I think is obvious by the content of this blog. I am a lifelong learner who is fascinated by pretty much everything. I like to call this a lifestyle blog, but really its a little bit of everything: kids, cooking, wellness, beauty, books, art, history… Basically if I’ve done it, or if I just saw a special on it on TV, I’ll be writing about it, all with a healthy dose of sarcasm and sass.
So buckle up and join me on my silly, messy, bumpy journey through motherhood!
