DIY Spring/Summer Decor

Hi everyone! I’m such a slacker, I swear. Not only did I mean to get this published yesterday, but it’s the END OF APRIL and I just finished decorating for spring this morning. Here are my DIYs that I set up to make our apartment spiffy for spring (maybe summer too, because I’ve been lazy and not sure I’ll want to put in the effort).

Flower Pot

Any time I decorate this little corner stand, I have to make sure whatever I use is not breakable. Not only can my toddler reach it, but our door also won’t open all the way without hitting it, and when she’s the one opening the door, forget it. So I decided on a pretty bouquet of fake flowers from Walmart and I found an old coffee container in a junk drawer. I’ll probably find a way to decorate the canister a little more but for now I kind of like it plain.

Candle Ring

Similar to the ones I made for fall and winter, I grabbed some fake daisies and sunflowers from Walmart and a foam floral ring from the Dollar Tree and went to town with the glue gun. I have this in the middle of my table on top of my burlap runner.

Sunflower Painting

I decided I liked the sunflowers in the candle ring so much that I wanted to paint one. I had an empty space on my wall above my kitchen cart ever since I took down the shelf that was there, so I thought that would be a perfect spot to hang it. If you’ve been reading my blog long enough, you know I’m a sucker for a good quote. So I found this one about flowers by former First Lady “Lady Bird” Johnson and painted it on. My lettering is still not great, but I’m definitely getting better at it. Gotta lay off the coffee for that to happen, but I’m not sacrificing my ability to function anytime soon.

What do you think? Do you change décor in the springtime? What did you put up this year? Show us in the comments!

Thanks for reading, and until next time!
